The KFC sandwiches menu runs from a KFC Snacker at $2.99 to a Big Box at $11.99, and almost all of it is built on one part: an Extra Crispy chicken breast filet on a toasted brioche bun. KFC Sandwiches Menu with Prices 2026

Three tiers cover the range. The Snackers at $2.99 are one Original Recipe tender on a small bun, and they are the cheapest hot food KFC sells. The full-size filet sandwiches sit between $4.99 and $5.99: Classic Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, Original Honey BBQ Sandwich and Zinger Sandwich. Above them, combos and Big Boxes add a side, a drink and sometimes nuggets.

The differences are smaller than the names suggest. Classic and Spicy are the same filet and the same bun; one carries plain mayo and the other a spicy sauce. Nashville Hot and Honey BBQ are that same filet with a sauce applied after frying. Only the Zinger Sandwich is genuinely different: the filet is marinated before breading, and it is the one sandwich here with lettuce on it.

Every Sandwich on the Menu, Compared

Nine sandwiches, five of them full-size and four of them Snackers. This is what separates them, in the order they cost.

SandwichPriceCaloriesWhat is on itCoating

Spicy Chicken Sandwich$5.29650 calFilet, spicy sauce, picklesExtra Crispy

The Zinger Sandwich is the outlier in every column: the only marinated filet, the only lettuce, and the lowest calorie count of the five full-size sandwiches despite being the most expensive.

Classic or Spicy: What the Numbers Actually Say

KFC publishes a full panel for both of these, and they are worth putting side by side. Same price, same filet, same bun, same protein. The sodium is not the same.

Classic Chicken SandwichSpicy Chicken Sandwich
Price$5.29$5.29
Calories650 kcal620 kcal
Protein34 g34 g
Sodium1,260 mg (55% DV)2,140 mg (93% DV)

The Spicy carries 880 mg more sodium than the Classic while carrying fewer calories and identical protein. One Spicy sandwich is 93% of a day's sodium before a side, a drink or anything else joins it. If heat is what you want, that is the cost of it, and it is worth knowing rather than guessing.

KFC Chicken Sandwiches as Combos and Big Boxes

Every full-size sandwich has a combo, and three have a Big Box on top of that. The combo adds a side and a medium drink; the Big Box adds five nuggets as well.

Meal for Two with Tenders$17.002120-3510 cal2 sandwiches, 4 tenders, 2 sides, 2 drinks

The oddity worth catching: the Saucy Sandwich Combo is the cheapest sandwich combo KFC sells, and it uses the same Extra Crispy filet on the same bun as the Classic Chicken Sandwich Combo. Sauce is the only difference, and it costs less rather than more.

How Is the Filet Made?

Kentucky Fried Chicken sandwiches are built on a whole chicken breast filet, not a formed patty. That is the part most chains do differently, and it is why the crust on a KFC sandwich is craggy rather than smooth: the Extra Crispy coating is hand applied twice, so it catches and shatters instead of giving.

The bun is toasted brioche, which is sweeter and softer than a standard sesame bun and is doing more work than it looks: it holds against a sauced filet for longer. Pickles are on almost everything, and they are not decoration. Acid cuts fried fat, which is the same reason Cole Slaw sits on the tray and the same reason a sharp drink beats a sweet one alongside.

What Should You Know Before You Order a Sandwich?

  • Check the sauced combo first. The Saucy Sandwich Combo undercuts the Classic Chicken Sandwich Combo using the same filet and bun, which is the reverse of how a sauced item is usually priced.
  • Spicy costs sodium, not money. The Spicy and the Classic are the same price. The difference lands on the nutrition panel instead.
  • Two Snackers is roughly one full-size sandwich. The Chicken Snacker Combo works out cheaper than most single-sandwich combos and gives you two things to eat.
  • Sauced filets do not travel. Nashville Hot and Honey BBQ are applied wet after frying, so the crust softens on the way home. Classic and Spicy hold up better.
  • The drink moves the number more than the sandwich. The filet is fixed on every combo; the side and the drink are the two things that actually decide the total. Unsweet Tea and water add nothing.
  • Coleslaw is a free swap on a Snacker. The coleslaw versions cost the same as the pickle ones, and they eat as a different sandwich.
  • Franchisees price their own menus. Everything quoted here is a median taken across 22 US restaurants, not a national list price.

Allergens in the Filets and Buns

A breaded filet on a wheat bun means wheat and gluten across the whole category. KFC also flags eggs, soy, MSG and sesame on the sandwiches it has published a breakdown for, the sesame coming from the bun rather than the chicken.

For the sandwiches KFC has not published a breakdown for, this page stays silent rather than guessing; a blank line is missing data, not an all-clear. The filets are also fried alongside the rest of the menu, which no allergen list can account for. Anyone with an allergy should check KFC's own current sheet and raise it at the counter.

KFC Sandwiches Menu Questions

A KFC Snacker is $2.99, the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and Original Honey BBQ Sandwich are $4.99, the Classic Chicken Sandwich and Spicy Chicken Sandwich are $5.29, and the Zinger Sandwich is $5.99. Franchisees set their own prices, so yours may differ.

Sauce, and sodium. Both carry the same Extra Crispy filet, the same bun and 34 g of protein. The Classic is 1,260 mg of sodium; the Spicy is 2,140 mg, which is 880 mg more for a sandwich with fewer calories. Both figures are KFC's own.

On sodium, the Classic Chicken Sandwich of the two full-size options KFC publishes a panel for. On calories, the Zinger Sandwich at 490 cal is the lightest full-size sandwich, helped by the lettuce and the lack of a heavy sauce. On portion, a KFC Snacker at 370 cal is half the size of anything else here.

The KFC Snacker at $2.99. All four Snacker variants cost the same, including the two with coleslaw and the spicy versions, so the choice is free.

The full-size filets are Extra Crispy, double hand breaded so the crust shatters rather than gives. The Snackers are the exception: they are built on an Original Recipe tender instead.

Only the Zinger Sandwich. Every other sandwich here carries pickles rather than lettuce, which is why the Zinger eats differently from the rest of the range.

Yes, on every tray. The Classic Chicken Sandwich Combo at $8.89 costs less than the sandwich, a side and a drink bought separately. The Saucy Sandwich Combo at $6.99 is the cheapest sandwich combo KFC sells.

A KFC Snacker is 370 cal, the Zinger Sandwich is 490 cal, the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich is 540 cal and the Classic Chicken Sandwich is 590-670 cal. Combos add a side and a drink on top; the nutrition calculator totals an exact tray.

One Original Recipe tender with pickles and mayo on a small brioche bun, at $2.99. Four versions exist at the same price: plain, spicy, and each of those with coleslaw instead of pickles.

Yes, at $5.99. It is KFC's international flagship sandwich and the only one on the US menu with a marinated filet and lettuce.
