Unsweet Tea Complete Information

KFC Unsweet Tea costs $2.99, the same as every other standard drink on the Drinks menu. It is the same black tea KFC brews for Sweet Tea with nothing added, which makes it one of only two zero-calorie options on the menu alongside Aquafina. KFC publishes no calorie figure for it, which is what you would expect from unsweetened tea.

On a menu where almost everything is fried and salted, an unsweetened drink does real work. Tannin cuts fat in a way sugar does not, which is why tea is served with fried food across the American South and across most of Asia. Half sweet and half unsweet is the standard compromise, and most counters will pour it without comment.
