The headline is the Taste of KFC 4 pc. Deal: at $2.50 a piece it matches the bulk buckets while still including two sides and two biscuits, which none of them do. For a table of four or more, the Build-A-Bucket does the same job at a larger scale.

Ordering Tips for KFC Fried Chicken

• Ask for the piece mix. Most buckets let you choose between a variety mix and all dark meat at the same price. Dark meat is cheaper to produce and often the better eating, but you have to ask.
• Check the Big Box before the combo. On several trays the second side costs well under half what an individual side costs on the Sides menu.
• Extra Crispy travels, Nashville Hot does not. Anything sauced after frying softens within minutes. Order it to eat, not to carry.
• Swap the drink, not the chicken. On a combo, the drink moves the calorie count more than the piece count does. Unsweetened tea and water are the two zero-calorie choices.
• Sides decide the meal. Two large Mac & Cheese against two large Green Beans is close to a thousand calories of difference on the same order.

Allergens in the Bone-In Range

KFC publishes a full allergen breakdown for seven of the 31 items in this category: the four a la carte pieces and the three wing boxes. All seven are flagged for gluten, wheat and MSG, which is what a hand breaded coating means. Four of them also carry milk and eggs.

For the remaining items KFC states nothing, and this site does not guess. An absent allergen line on an item page means the brand has not published one, not that the item is free of anything.
