KFC Snacker Complete Information

The KFC Snacker costs $2.99 and carries 370 cal, which makes it the cheapest sandwich on the Sandwiches & Wraps menu by a wide margin. The build is different from every other sandwich KFC sells: an Original Recipe chicken tender rather than a breaded breast filet, with pickles and mayo on a brioche bun. A tender is thinner and softer than a filet, and it is seasoned in the Original Recipe blend rather than the heavier Extra Crispy coating, so this eats gentler on every count.

Size is the honest trade. The Snacker is a snack, as the name says, and one of them is not a meal for most people. Two of them still cost less than a single Classic Chicken Sandwich and give you more food, which is the arbitrage regular customers already know about. It also makes the best entry point on the menu for a child, since there is no heat anywhere in it. If you want crunch on top, the KFC Snacker with Coleslaw adds slaw for the same money.

KFC KFC Snacker Recipe

A Snacker is a small sandwich built on a tender, so the recipe is really a tender recipe with an assembly at the end. The Original Recipe herb blend is the part worth getting close, and this version leans on the eleven that KFC has never denied. At $2.99 in a restaurant the saving at home is small; the point is control over what goes in.

Tips

  • Buy tenders rather than cutting a breast into strips. The tenderloin is a different muscle and it stays soft where a cut strip goes stringy.
  • Hotter oil than a full filet needs, and less time in it. Thin chicken overcooks while you are watching the colour.
  • Toast the rolls. A soft roll around soft chicken gives you nothing to bite against.

Variations

  • Add a spoon of cole slaw for the Snacker with Coleslaw version.
  • Stir cayenne sauce into the mayo for the spicy one.
  • Use a slider bun and make eight small ones for a table rather than four.

Serve it with

  • Two per person, which is how they are actually eaten.
  • Fries alongside, since one Snacker is not lunch.
  • Cheaper per sandwich than $2.99 once you are frying a batch anyway.

A home version of KFC Snacker. It is our own recipe, not KFC's, and the Original Recipe blend stays a trade secret.

KFC Snacker Questions

$2.99, which makes it the cheapest sandwich KFC sells. Two of them still come in under the price of one Classic Chicken Sandwich.

370 cal, roughly half what a full-size sandwich carries. The tender is smaller than a filet and the Original Recipe coating is lighter than Extra Crispy.

The chicken. A Snacker uses an Original Recipe tender; the Classic Chicken Sandwich uses an Extra Crispy breast filet, which is bigger, crunchier and more heavily seasoned. Same pickles, same mayo, same bun.

Not on its own for most adults. Two Snackers, or one with Secret Recipe Fries, gets you to a proper lunch and still costs less than most combos.

No. If you want heat at the same price, the Spicy KFC Snacker swaps the plain mayo for a spicy one and costs exactly the same.
